Shakira to launch 2026 World Cup with opening ceremony performance

Shakira will headline the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City, performing the tournament’s official anthem, Dai Dai, alongside Burna Boy before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Estadio Azteca on 11 June.

The celebration will be part of a series of opening events across the three host nations, with J Balvin and Tyla also appearing in Mexico, while Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette will perform in Toronto and Katy Perry and Future will take the stage in Los Angeles.

Shakira is also set to feature in the World Cup final’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show alongside Madonna and BTS.
