Spurs too strong for Auckland FC at Eden Park

Tottenham Hotspur claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Auckland FC in a lively pre-season clash at Eden Park, with Dane Scarlett opening the scoring after capitalising on a rebound before Richarlison sealed the result midway through the second half following impressive work from Mathys Tel.

Auckland produced several promising moments, including a late first-half chance for Sam Cosgrove that was denied by goalkeeper Brandon Austin, but the Premier League visitors controlled much of the contest despite widespread second-half substitutions.

Around 40,000 spectators braved the wet conditions to watch the match, which provided valuable experience for the A-League champions against elite opposition while giving Spurs supporters another encouraging performance ahead of the new season.
