Tennis journo who mocked Djokovic as an ‘anti-vaxxer’ dies suddenly, aged 59

Mike Dickson news
Mike Dickson (L), Novak Djokovic (R).

Mike Dickson wrote for the UK Daily Mail and was remembered as the ‘doyen’ of tennis journalists and ‘Mr. Wimbledon’.

Despite Dickson’s COVID barbs, Djokovic offered his condolences on Twitter (X).

Dickson was in Melbourne to cover this year’s Australian Open when he collapsed and died suddenly, just days short of his 60th birthday. His death was announced by his family on 18 January.

In a series of articles published between 2020 and 2022 Dickson accused Djokovic of being an ‘anti-vaxxer’ and living in a ‘whacky world’. Dickson said Djokovic had damaged his reputation with ‘misinformation’, trashing it ‘beyond repair.’

Dickson’s cause of death has not yet been released.

  1. Very sad indeed but at the end of the day the virus posed little threat to Djoko and healthy people, yet the media spin obviously convinced at lot of people including Dickson, add to the fact that the jab never stopped infection or
transmission. Personally I believe his reputation has been enhanced, giving the middle finger to health authorities and the woke media, I can tell you one thing for sure, betcha he has no regrets.

  2. The greatest tennis player of all time. Djokovic is a true legend in evry sense. Isn’t it amazing how this “virus” seems to bypass people who don’t give a sh** about it!
