Watch: Sydney FC 0 – 1 Wellington Phoenix

The Phoenix have defeated Sydney FC 0-1 in their A-League clash today at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

The win came with the Phoenix finishing the last few minutes with only 9 men, and defending two penalty goals deep into injury time.

It’s the first time the Phoenix have defeated Sydney since 2018.

‘I think the boys showed fantastic character to get themselves through that,’ coach Ufuk Talay told media after the game.

‘And we walk away with the three points so the boys will be quite pleased with that. They defended the box very well. I don’t think Sydney had a real clear chance to score a goal in the second-half. There were probably half chances where balls have dropped or second phases, but I don’t think there was anything we gave them in the second-half.’
