Federal authorities have arrested Manuel Tamayo-Torres, an Arizona resident, for allegedly posting threatening videos targeting President-elect Donald Trump and his family.
According to court documents, Tamayo-Torres uploaded videos on Facebook on a near-daily basis, including one on November 13 where he brandished an AR-15-style rifle and made threats against a specific individual and their family. While the court documents redact the individual’s name, sources confirmed to ABC News that the threats were directed at Trump.
In another video posted on November 21, Tamayo-Torres reportedly made explicit threats, stating: “You’re gonna die. Your son’s gonna die. Your whole family is going to die. … I’m going to put a hole in your face.”
Authorities said the videos often accused Trump of kidnapping and sex-trafficking his children, although there is no evidence Tamayo-Torres has children. He also claimed to have witnessed Trump and Secret Service agents abduct his daughter during a campaign rally in Arizona in August.
Tamayo-Torres faces charges for threatening a president or president-elect and for making false statements on federal forms while attempting to buy firearms in 2022.
Court records reveal he lied about his felony history, which includes a 2003 assault conviction that prohibits him from legally owning guns.
The incident follows heightened threats against Trump, including an assassination attempt in July and another foiled ambush in September. Federal investigators continue to assess the broader security implications of these threats.
