The body believed to be that of missing British TV presenter Michael Mosley was discovered on a rocky coast of the Greek island of Symi on Sunday morning by a private boat, according to a police spokesman.
Formal identification is pending, but Mosley, who disappeared on Wednesday after leaving a beach for a walk, is presumed dead. His wife, Dr. Clare Bailey, had reported him missing when he failed to return after several hours, describing the search as an “unbearable” ordeal.
Michael Mosley, 67, known for his television appearances and his column in the Daily Mail, was vacationing on Symi with his wife.
Despite an extensive search operation involving police dogs, drones, and local volunteers, his body was found days after he was last seen. The police are investigating the circumstances of his death, including the possibility of an accident due to the island’s rugged terrain. Mosley is also known internationally for his book The Fast Diet which popularized the ‘5:2 diet’ for weight loss.
