China lodges protest over Japan’s comments on 80th Victory Anniversary

China - Japan news

Beijing has given Tokyo a serious representation due to the Japanese side’s call for other countries not to participate in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japan in China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Kyodo news agency reported, citing diplomatic sources, that Japan informed other countries via its foreign missions that China’s events regarding the anniversary focus on the past too much and have an anti-Japanese connotation.

Tokyo recommended other countries to carefully consider the possibility of their participation in these events.

“China has made a serious representation to the Japanese side and demanded explanations from the Japanese side,” Guo told a briefing.

The spokesman also called on Tokyo to recognise and reflect on the history of its aggression, and to completely sever ties with militarism.

  1. Well China didn’t invade Japan. In fact China hasn’t invaded anyone. The fact is, Japan invaded China more than once and committed absolute atrocities against the Chinese people.

  2. Ashamed of their deplorable behaviour in China before and during WWII. Our neighbour, when I was a child, was a victim of Japan during WWII, in a prisoner of war camp. What they did to those men beggars belief and is beyond forgiveness. Live with your shame and dishonour Japan, “you earned it!”

  3. That’s a bit rich coming from the Chinese Communist Party. During the occupation by Japan, the Commies would not fight Japan; they stood back and let the Chinese Nationalists do the fighting and grow weaker from it. After the war, the commies at full strength overthrew the Nationalists and took control of China, and now they want to celebrate a victory that they didn’t partake in? This is peak stolen valor.

    • That is called ” tactict” . Anyway, nationalist or commies, they are all Chinese and China won the war.
But i think the US are using all their ” influence” on their allies at the moment in an effort to ” weaken” China, the next ” ennemy” ( greed and envy) of the US vulture
