More than 600 Ukrainian troops killed in ‘retaliation operation’ – Moscow

The strike in Kramatorsk was a response to the Ukrainian shelling of Makeyevka on New Year’s night, the Defense Ministry says.

More than 600 of Kiev’s troops have been eliminated in a Russian missile strike in the Ukrainian-held city of Kramatorsk in the Donbass, Russia’s Defense Ministry has claimed.

The bombardment on Sunday was a “retaliation operation” carried out in response to “a criminal attack” by Ukraine on a temporary housing area accommodating Russian servicemen in the city of Makeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on New Year’s night, the ministry said in a statement.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian military has managed to uncover and confirm the location of Ukrainian troops in Kramatorsk in the DPR, the statement read. This data revealed that dormitory No.28 in the city was hosting more than 700 Kiev soldiers, with 600 more staying in dormitory No.47.

“As a result of a massive missile attack on these temporary housing areas of the Ukrainian military’s units, more than 600 Ukrainian servicemen were killed,” the ministry said.

The Ukrainian military, however, has denied sustaining heavy casualties as a result of the strikes. A spokesman for the Eastern Grouping of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Sergey Cherevaty, dismissed Moscow’s statement as a “psy-op” intended to distract from Russia’s own heavy losses of equipment and personnel.

On January 1, at precisely 0:01am, Ukrainian forces targeted a temporary housing area containing Russian troops in the city of Makeyevka. Six missiles from a US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launcher were fired at the building. Two of them were intercepted by Russian air defenses, but four made it through, causing massive damage to the facility. The death toll from the strike has reached 89, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Earlier this week, Moscow said several HIMARS systems operated by Ukraine had been destroyed in Donbass, including the launcher that was used in the strike on Makeyevka.

The strike on Kramatorsk took place following a 36-hour truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin to allow Orthodox Christians, who make up the majority of the population in Russia and Ukraine, could go to church and celebrate Christmas safely. The ceasefire by Russian forces was unilateral, and the Ukrainian military continued to shell multiple areas in the newly incorporated Russian territories of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Moscow said.

  1. These retaliatory responses aside in the last 2 days Russia has broken through in Solidar, Bakhmut and several other areas

Ukrainian and west reports all to one degree or another acknowledge these Russian gains and heavy losses on the Wests side.

An acknowledgment also that the mish mash of western weapons pouring into Ukraine is creating a Frankenstein army and causing panic and chaos on the battlefields

It seems that despite the massive funding, armaments, specialist personnel and support from over 42 western or NATO allies, that Russia is prevailing. And in the words of several western military and geopolitical experts…. Russia will subjugate all of Ukraine unless the west humble themselves and negotiate

So not only did Putin gain the moral high ground regards a truce over a Christian holiday period (which the immoral west declined) but his military have wiped the floor with the elitest forces masses against them.

Hmmm I’ve read of this sort of thing happening before…… but where now

    • i totally agree with you. And you should know that in western europe there are millions of people who disagree with supporting this war against Russia. The msm have become a tool of propaganda, nothing more and spread hatred against everything russian. Most people are fools though and believe everything said on tv.
I personnaly like putine and what he has done for the russian population. A great stateman

    • Are you watching Alexander Mercouris from The Duran and Brian Berletic from The New Atlas on Youtube? JD
Very good, very informative. For those seeking a very analytical straight down the line (well I think so) assessment of the situation in Ukraine, both on the battlefield and the bigger picture, including International, I highly recommend these channels to people interested.
And Yes, propaganda is not found only in those “bad countries” but right here at home in NZ. Often what is said by “those tv channels”, the complete opposite is more to the truth! Ukrainian war dead (not including civilians) starts at 100,000 and goes anywhere up to 150,000! While Russian dead is somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000. Depending on sources of course. Ukraine is getting their asses kicked, not the other way around like those liars tell everybody. In fact considering the shear scale of Ukrainian males killed between 18 and 60, Ukraine might struggle to even be a viable state with so many of their male population killed. It will take them generations to recover, if ever. That is of course if there is a Ukraine left at all when this war ends, which there very well might not be.
Contrary to the opinion of that wasp hive witch jacunda, Russia’s war is quite legal and they indeed do have the high moral ground on this one, thanks JD. It is the west that is implicated in this one (not to mention all the other wars). america, brittan and their European proxy army NATO caused this war, which they were planning anyway. The west is guilty of causing all this death and destruction in Ukraine, and perhaps the very demise of the Ukraine.

      • yes, uncle bob, i watch regularly alexander mercouris on rumble. But he is also on youtube i assume. Yesterday evening ” The duran ” gave a good analysis of political/historical background. When this war started, i first did some research on hunter biden and victoria nuland. And then appeared the US military bio labs for ” research” funded by hunter biden and others if my understanding is correct. So i had also an idea of the ” democratic” context of this war.
Most europeans dont want this war.
Now, the netherlands have barred David Icke from staying in europe for the duration of 2 years. He is ” stampled” a ” complotist”. I am an old woman and was never much interested in politics. And i must say, i had NO time really. Now i have plenty of time. I had seen a video of him on this news outlet. So I ordered one of his book. The trigger. It is about 9/11 and all the lies we have been told.. For me it is a kind of waking up. I understand now why so many politicians want to shut him up. He is one of the fews in this nasty “new world order” wanting man to be free.
If you have the time, i recommend this book. And you can make up your mind.
As for putine, he has done a great job in his country. A true patriot in the good sense of the word. When he arrived, the old ussr was falling apart and was ruled by the mafia. He put again order in his country. I know people living in russia. Poutine is wel liked by the population. It says everything

        • Thanks Anony. Yes Putin is very well supported by his people. He does not betray Russia by selling it out to these corrupt globalist’s who want to Balkanise Russia. Like what happened to Yugoslavia, remember. To split it up and then rape and plunder Russia’s massive resources. And to control all those resources. More money, more power. The US has been itching to do this for a very long time. And they were slowly moving ever closer to Russia’s borders.
Russia had no other choice than to go to war to put a stop to this american/british aggression, otherwise it will be the beginning of the end for Russia. It is very much a war of existence for Russia. Thanks for the book recommend. I will check it out. I heard about Icke. There’s so much going on in this world that the powers that be are trying to bury it’s insane.
