Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, could face a hit-and-run prosecution after allegedly striking a parked vehicle in Yountville before driving away.
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, a witness reported the collision and directed deputies to Pelosi’s damaged convertible, which was later found disabled on the roadway.
The 86-year-old reportedly told officers he knew he had hit something but did not realise what it was, so continued driving until the vehicle could no longer be operated. Authorities said preliminary testing found no alcohol in his system, and he was not arrested. The matter has been referred to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of possible charges.
A family spokesperson said Pelosi had apologised to the vehicle owner and accepted responsibility for the damage. The incident follows his 2022 drunk-driving conviction in Napa County, while in 2024 he survived a hammer attack at his home by David DePape, who was later sentenced to 30 years in prison.
If this man wasn’t connected to the government, the process would have been arrested, charged and convicted.
