Pranked: ‘I don’t want a war with Russia,’ Polish leader tells fake Macron

Andrzej Duda news

Andrzej Duda was tricked into thinking that he was speaking to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has said that he is being “very careful” to avoid a war with Russia. The admission came during a call with pranksters who posed as French leader Emmanuel Macron.

The conversation with Russian hoaxers Vovan and Lexus took place last Tuesday, the day a missile exploded in a Polish village near the border with Ukraine, killing two people.

While Western media and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky hurried to blame the incident on Russia, Polish, US, and EU officials soon said that the missile was Ukrainian.

“Trust me, I’m very careful. I’m not accusing the Russians. Emmanuel, this is war. I think both sides will be blaming each other in this war,” Duda told the fake Macron in an audio recording, released by Vovan and Lexus on their show on the Russian platform RuTube.

An escalation between NATO and Russia wasn’t in the interest of Poland or the whole US-led military alliance, he insisted.

“Emmanuel, you think I need a war with Russia? No, I don’t want that. I don’t want a war with Russia. And I’m extremely careful. Trust me, I’m extremely careful,” the Polish leader said.

Duda’s office later admitted on Twitter that he had fallen victim to the pair of pranksters. The president realized there may have been “an attempted hoax” during the call due to the “unusual way” the person was conducting the conversation, it said, adding that he then ended the call.

In the hours after the missile hit the Polish village of Przewodow, Duda said a “Russian-made” missile was involved but did not blame Moscow. He, along with US and EU officials, later acknowledged it was a Ukrainian air defense missile that had veered off course amid a series of Russian airstrikes.

The pranksters, whose real names are Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, have previously managed to trick Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the author of Harry Potter books J.K. Rowling, former US President George W. Bush, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba and many other high-profile figures.

  1. Let’s all face it. The EU hasn’t got a clue what is going on. They are like headless chooks. Decapitated from any semblance of reality. Lies distortion and spin. Contradictions, disinformation and manipulation. The EU is in an advanced state of collapse. Now we have the G6. The UK a failed state. The EU is a shape-shifter inspired by the US as a vassal state that is reverting back to its archaic former self. Of wars conflicts and instability. But as usual it is the oppressed and downtrodden who pay the price for this short sighted blatant nauseating gross display of incompetence and criminality. Like the fake vaccines dished out in lockstep for a virus that has never been proven to exist. The next embarrassment coming up is the envisaged price cap on Russian oil. Should be a gas. Sit back and watch these morons self destruct. It is truly pathetic.
