Former CBS News staffers are calling for an independent investigation into 60 Minutes after discrepancies surfaced in Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview responses.
CBS has been accused of altering Harris’ answer to a question about Israel, with the network facing scrutiny for possibly editing her “word salad” response on Face the Nation to make her appear more coherent during the 60 Minutes broadcast. Critics, including Donald Trump, are raising concerns about journalistic ethics and CBS’s credibility.
Trump has accused CBS of “election interference” for allegedly doctoring Harris’ response.
On Truth Social, Trump claimed, “Her REAL ANSWER WAS CRAZY OR DUMB, so they actually REPLACED it with another answer… A FAKE NEWS SCAM.” Despite multiple requests, CBS has refused to release the full transcript of the interview, prompting calls for transparency and a probe into the network’s editing practices.
CBS has yet to comment on whether an investigation will be conducted.
Insiders suggest the edit may have been made for time constraints, but critics argue that only releasing the full transcript will clarify whether the edit was ethical or politically motivated.
The Harris campaign distanced itself from the editing, asserting they had “no involvement” in CBS’s production decisions.

That’s why I haven’t had TV in my house for several years. That’s why I have not watched a network bulletin, or listened to RNZ news, in ages. Nothing, which comes by way of a network or Government service can be trusted, and it has been this way for a very long time.
It is mirrors and illusion, puppetry and majic to beguile and massage the public mind. As to what’s really important, it has no value whatsoever. But DT does, and some social media does and thank God for that..
