Vance blames ‘engineered chaos’ for Minneapolis unrest

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has blamed what he called “engineered chaos” for days of protests and unrest in Minneapolis following a second fatal shooting involving federal agents this month, amid a major immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota.

Demonstrations escalated after U.S. Border Patrol agents shot and killed 37-year-old intensive care nurse Alex Pretti on Saturday, an incident that followed the January 7 death of Renee Good during an earlier federal operation.

Writing on X, Vance said, “This level of engineered chaos is unique to Minneapolis,” accusing far-left agitators of working alongside local officials to inflame tensions after the shooting.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Pretti approached agents with a handgun and resisted efforts to disarm him, prompting an officer to fire in self-defence, though video circulating online appears to show Pretti holding a phone immediately before he was tackled and shot, a claim supported by eyewitness accounts.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have condemned the killing and called for federal agents to withdraw, while demonstrators have clashed with police and demanded independent investigations.

Political reactions have been sharply divided, with Democrats criticising federal tactics and Republicans, including Vance and President Donald Trump, defending the agents and placing responsibility for the unrest on local leadership and activist groups.

  1. Watched an interview a while back with an expert on civil unrest, revolutions, etc. Apparently the US more than ticks all the boxes. So does the UK.

  2. It’s being reported that it has been found that Tim Walz campaign strategist Amanda Koehler was in the signal chats coordinating the doxing and harassment of ICE agents!
That’s potentially now a terrorism charge on her. There is absolutely some powerful political people behind this it is coming out.
