Violent protests in Amsterdam: Rioters set tram ablaze

On Monday night in Amsterdam rioters set a tram on fire during an outburst of violence in the northwestern part of the city, where demonstrators reportedly chanted antisemitic slogans.

The disturbances, which began around 9:15 pm local time, involved dozens of rioters who threw fireworks, stones, and other objects at police, as well as at nearby cars and buses.

Authorities reported several arrests and confirmed no injuries to bystanders. Video footage captured a cyclist being attacked by one of the rioters.

These riots come just days after another violent incident where fans of the Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv were targeted by pro-Palestinian mobs following a game in Amsterdam. The attacks have drawn condemnation from Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, who labelled the violence as “unadulterated antisemitic.”

The recent uptick in antisemitic incidents across Europe mirrors similar rises globally amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hamas, which began following a deadly Hamas raid on October 7, 2023, that sparked widespread unrest and violence.

  1. I don t approve of riots. But i would say that in some way it was provoked.
The maccabi ” fans” behaved as pure evil scum. They started rioting themselves attacking dutch citizen among whom not only muslims but also christians europeans . Attacking taxi drivers, throwing stones at cars and windows and breaking them, and using everything they could find on the street or building sites as weapons ( steal pipes , wood planks, bricks etc.) It was rioting and was started by maccabi fans.
The many muslims living in Amsterdan responded, as it could be expected, the genocide in Gaza being on their mind.
The muslims are now accused of ” anti- semitism” by officials and the government and many arrests have followed.
From a jewish passer by, one heard that among the maccabi ” fans” there were a lot of young men that just had returned from Gaza. As if it were an excuse….
Israhell is exporting its violence to europe as europe also have a important muslim community
The riots provoked by maccaby were not so much ” anti semitic”, as really anti- israhell. But the old trick ” anti semitism” worked again
It was provoked and there might be some political gain to be made by israhell .
When there is no fairness, expect some respons. Some resort to riots
