US Army sees ‘unprecedented’ recruitment crisis

US Army recruitment news

Military officials expect to miss recruitment goals by 25% this year.

The US Army has so far recruited just around half of the 60,000 new soldiers it hoped to enlist by October 1, officials said on Tuesday, saying that if the downward trend is not reversed, it could have a significant impact on combat readiness in the coming years.

“We’ve got unprecedented challenges with both a post-Covid-19 environment and labor market, but also competition with private companies that have changed their incentives over time,” the vice chief of staff for the Army, General Joseph Martin, told a House Armed Services subcommittee, according to AP.

The US military has had a difficult time attracting new soldiers, posting its lowest recruitment numbers in decades this year. Last month, the Pentagon admitted it was 23% behind recruiting goals. The problem has been widely blamed on bad advertising – specifically the recent trend toward ‘woke’ advertising, which has been widely mocked on social media – and a sloppy, antiquated recruitment system that places too much responsibility in the hands of outside contractors.

Facing the most severe recruiting problems across all military branches, the US Army is currently offering bonuses of up to $50,000 – which could turn out to be much less in practice – for a six-year enlistment, but is still struggling to find enough volunteers. Martin projected that the Army could fall from the expected 476,000 troops to 466,400 by the end of this fiscal year, and to as few as 445,000 by the end of 2023.

“The Army is facing our most challenging recruiting environment since the inception of the all-volunteer force,” Army Secretary Christine Wormuth said at the hearing. “We are facing a very fundamental question… Do we lower standards to meet end strength, or do we lower end strength to maintain a quality, professional force? We believe the answer is obvious – quality is more important than quantity.”

An internal Defense Department survey seen by NBC last month showed that just 9% of eligible citizens aged 17-24 have any intention to serve in the armed forces, the lowest number since 2007. At the same time, the overall number of Americans physically, mentally, and morally qualified to join has dropped from 29% to 23% in recent years.

According to the Pentagon, the top three reasons potential recruits gave for wanting to join the military were money, paying for college, and travel. Meanwhile, the top three reasons against joining were listed as fear of injury or death, psychological trauma, and sexual harassment or assault.

  1. Many are waking up and see no point in fighting for the Globalist cause. US Army started recruiting school drop outs, with very low IQ, over a decade ago. Wokes have taken over the Army and so the situation is like donkeys leading horses for a fight. A donkey carrying a pile of holy books is still a donkey. US Army cannot win a land war against Russia or China. US deep state is wanting to risk a limited nuclear war. They already used depleted uranium weapons in Iraq and baltic wars. The effects are still ongoing and will last generations. MSM is very quiet on this!

  2. The latter are very real threats from within…

Not to mention the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which has a history of gross and belligerent abuse. I saw this first-hand as my squad members were targeted by those of *higher rank (*and were Freemasons, I might add…) and given General Discharges, and one a Dishonorable Discharge with a 10 year prison sentence at Ft. Leavenworth for defending himself from his drug-crazed wife who threatened him with a boning knife while on base (bases are Federal property, using a different set of laws…).

I know of a Commercial Helicopter Pilot who applied for Warrant Officer Flight Training (WOFT), and got in to the program. He was Professionally Qualified with 1500 hours in a Bell Jet Ranger and a Hughes 500 before joining the U.S. Army.

At ‘Pre-Flight’ (Warrant Officer Basic Training), he was ‘washed-out’ of the program due to…NOT FOLDING HIS UNDERWEAR PROPERLY IN HIS FOOT LOCKER!!!!!!!!!!! despite his experience which probaby exceeded what he would have ever learned at WOFT…

This is the true ‘Waste, fraud and abuse’ that goes on in the U.S. Army. I myself tried for WOFT in 1973 and despite holding a Private Pilot / Instrument Rating Airplane Certificate,

I was told that my right eye was too weak, despite getting 20/20 on my FAA Flight Physical. I went into another branch of service at that point…

I went on to get Professionally Certified with all ratings and certificates via Civilian Flight School using VA Benefits by enrolling in the Cessna Pilot Center syllabus that included rated check rides, written tests, etc.which gave enough college credits for an Associates Degree. That course and it’s delivery was much more intense than any Military Flight School ever offered…

The take away; the U.S. Army does not want experienced people and most especially, former ex-service members who have the skills.
Most in the U.S. Armed Forces / DoD know what the globalists are doing, and are now refusing to go along with the deceptive bullshit by supporting the same NWO via ‘military service’..! NO MORE…!!!
