The US talk show host was reacting to the Harry & Meghan documentary which premiered on Netflix over the past week.
Kelly described the programme as a ‘boring, uninspiring interminable waste of time.’ Kelly wondered if it could rightly be called a ‘documentary’ as documentaries are generally based on facts, and Harry & Meghan was ‘woefully’ short on these.
In a meticulous take-down of the first part Kelly went through a number of claims made by the Duke and Duchess and debunked them one by one. In particular she criticised their penchant for playing the race card and tendency to over-dramatise events and press criticism which the majority of celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic face each day, including herself. These things came with the the territory of being part of the Britain’s most famous family, and her message to them was to get over it and move on.
Trailers for the documentary have been published on YouTube, where the vast majority of comments of the thousands of comments have been hostile towards the couple.
Meanwhile, GB News royal correspondent Kinsey Schofield believes Americans are ‘starting to question Harry and Meghan’s integrity,’ after the couple made a number of vague accusations of racism in the Royal Family. Kinsey, herself a supporter of Markle at the beginning of the marriage, now says the documentary is destroying their own support base in America.
