Newshub bosses proposed a collaborative newsgathering service with TVNZ and RNZ to cut costs and save the news organization, but TVNZ rejected the idea, citing additional costs and risks.
The revelations were in a report published in legacy media outlet NZ Herald this afternoon.
The State broadcaster’s rejection came as a surprise to Warner Bros. Discovery’s Glen Kyne, especially given TVNZ’s own financial losses of $16.7 million. The proposed service would have pooled resources for covering news, potentially reducing expenses for each organisation.
Despite the rejection Kyne said he remained open to exploring collaborative solutions for the legacy media sector’s challenges.
For it’s part TVNZ said it was facing its own financial difficulties and needed to focus on its own sustainability.
Kyne: “Gentlemen, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight 🎻…”
Corrupt lying evil communist/woke idiots go broke.
How surprising.
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
Ha, TVNZ facing its own financial difficulties and need to focus on its own sustainability, needs to urgently address the same mistakes Hub made: serve the public with critical thinking reports and not smarmy tinkering rorts.
And get those woke presenters off the screen. We want REAL people.
