Police to cut over 170 non-constabulary jobs

Police job cuts news

Police have confirmed plans to cut 173 jobs from their non-constabulary corporate workforce, following a proposal in August to shed 170 positions.

Deputy Chief Executive Andrea Conlan has said the exact number of redundancies will be known by the end of November, once the new corporate workforce structure is finalised.

Affected staff are currently being matched to new or vacant positions.

The cuts are expected to save $51.6 million over four years, though the Police Association previously expressed concern that corporate support roles play a significant part in frontline operations.

  1. But but but, what about policing the hurty words, for the hate speech laws that don’t (as yet) exist?

Suffice to say, if the whole rotten organisation disappeared over night, I’d not shed a single tear……

Community policing and practical, fair and just laws, are all we need…central govt and its institutions have shown they simply can’t be trusted…..
