Fury disputes decision in Usyk rematch defeat

British heavyweight Tyson Fury has criticised the judges decision, saying he deserved the win in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk for the WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC titles in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Despite an improved performance compared to their previous bout in May, which Fury lost by split decision, the judges awarded Usyk a unanimous victory. Fury, who now carries two professional defeats, both to Usyk said, “I thought I won that fight again… I’ll always believe until the day I die, I won that fight.”

While Fury felt he had been aggressive throughout the fight, Usyk’s precision and dominance, despite physical disadvantages in height, weight, and reach, secured him the decision.

Reflecting on the outcome, Fury remarked, “It is what it is. You can’t change decisions, but I’ll always feel hard done-by.”

Looking ahead, Fury seemed uncertain about his next steps, choosing instead to focus on a well-deserved break after months of preparation. “I’m going to go home and have a good Christmas,” he said.
