Luxon tells school lunch moaners to make a Marmite sandwich

School lunch news

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has downplayed concerns over issues with the new school lunch programme, telling those dissatisfied with the programme to “make a Marmite sandwich and put an apple in a bag.”

His comments follow numerous reports in legacy media with the programme, including inedible food and plastic contamination.

Luxon said that feeding children should be a parental responsibility but acknowledged that some lunches had not met expectations.

Associate Education Minister David Seymour is tasked with addressing the programme’s shortcomings, which Luxon characterised as “teething problems.”

Labour leader Chris Hipkins argued that a mix of hot and cold meals had worked well in the past, but Luxon insisted parents could manage with simple lunches.

  1. Funny how over $100M+ of our hard earned money not baldies can be handed to the vicious Neo Nazi Kiev regime but Kiwi’s literally go hungry. Time for National Disgrace to go the same way as Liebour. Out of office “permanently”.

  2. Haha finally says something right.

Now do this with everything else. Start with, “everyone knows there’s only 2 sex’s, its basic school biology, if you don’t know that go back to school “

Next, “that Zelensky is an actor and a clown, I wouldn’t throw my support or kiwis tax money behind that fool”

Next “I am here for kiwis, and bringing in more unskilled people from overseas helps no-one, it stops today”.

Next “we’re fixing our economy immediately by pulling out of that ridiculous Paris agreement.”

Try that Luxy and I may give you another look…….

    • Couldn’t agree with you more.

I am the parent to my children, NOT the state. I’ll see that they’re fed, clothed and housed.

HOWEVER given the notable mainstream media astroturfing of this story outlined above, it’s clearly just a case of the dirty smear merchants doing some early electioneering at Labour’s behest. Hard to feel sorry for the PM though when all he seems to care about is Ukraine, Davos and MRNA.

  3. 1960’s child. Can’t recall ever having a hot lunch made by mum. Can’t recall ever not having a lunch or seeing anyone without a lunch.

However, back then, women with childern were married, and did not have to work. A fathers income could buy a house, pay a mortgage, buy food, a car, pay rates, buy a petrol, go on local holiday, save, pay for a childs wedding, a 21st. A doctor visit. And their was 5 children in our family all to the same mother.

Medicine was medicine. Water was pure, right was right, wrong was wrong.

    • Go back to the 1930’a and you will see plenty. This is not a new idea by any means….just one that can’t be paid for, whilst apparently, foreign dictators can have whatever they like….

    • And I forgot to say, dad only work week days and shops were closed all weekend except for petrol stations who didn’t sell bananas or any food. We played board games, cards and played in the local school grounds or rode bikes. Fish and chips were Friday’s and were not cooked in poisonous substances. There were no sudden deaths either.

  4. It made the looney left TV3 headlines, 3 burnt plastic containers, blame David Seymour, did they arrive to the school like that?, some muppet overheated them, then they had comments from ‘dont know what a women is hipkins’.
Trivial BS, on top of that the newsreader said, it may be the kids only meal of the day.

    • It’s obvious Labour has resorted to its usual playbook of nasty bitchiness. That’s all they have. Not capable or running a country let alone a bath. New name for chippy: Chris Bitchkins.
