Both Labour and National have slipped below 30 percent in the latest Taxpayers’ Union-Curia poll.
Labour dropped 1.9 points to 25.9 percent, its weakest showing in this poll since July 2024, while National declined two points to 29 percent. Opportunity fell from 6.1 to 4.5 percent, leaving it without seats under the poll’s projections.
The Greens surged 3.8 points to 13.9 percent and ACT climbed 3.2 points to 10.5 percent, while NZ First eased to 8.4 percent and Te Pāti Māori rose to 2 percent.
On the projected numbers, National, ACT and NZ First would command 64 seats against 56 for Labour, the Greens and Te Pāti Māori. Christopher Luxon remained the preferred prime minister on 21.2 percent, ahead of Chris Hipkins on 16.9 percent, although support for both leaders declined.
