Gisborne Police are searching for a hero who rescued an 89-year-old from a house fire ON Saturday morning.
Emergency services were first made aware of the fully involved fire on Aberdeen Road at approximately 1am.
“Police understand the hero was in a car driving past, saw the blaze and pulled over”, said Detective Senior Sergeant John Love.
“He then entered the burning building and pulled the occupant to safety through a window. However, he left the scene before emergency services were able to speak with him.
“Police would like to identify the man so we can thank him for his quick thinking and courageous actions.
“The house occupant was taken to hospital for further assessment and observation.
“A scene examination was carried out yesterday by Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealand.”
Anyone with information that may assist in identifying the man is encouraged to contact Police on 105, quoting file number P067820889.

Why are the Police spending resources to find someone that has committed no crime and does not want to be found?
Do they think this person is a person of interest that needs to be found, assessed and classified?
Like the cut of this Guy’s Jib. No virtue signaling, gets in gets out, avoids the masonic legacy media
I heard he went home to his flat and blasted Bonnie Tyler – “Holding Out For A Hero” out the upstairs window. Psyching himself up by doing press-ups and eating a can of Spam afterward. A real life pop-eye.
Maybe he is happy enough to have helped and wants to be left alone?
“Police would like to identify the man so we can thank him for his quick thinking and courageous actions”. (Yeah right.)
Well the Natural man (Common law/law of the land) does not want to contract with (answer questions) the Artificial person (Corporate law/law of the sea) and I don’t blame him. He did the right thing and chooses to remain anonymous.
