‘Lion Den’ – the new album from ELskan FLY

Lion Den by ELskan FLY

Lion Den is a dust-kicked, heart-on-the-line country-folk/Americana record built on grit, resilience, and knowing when to hold on, and when to let go.

Driven by real instruments and real vocals, the record holds onto a grounded, human sound, letting the songs land as they are. From heartbreak and vulnerability to fierce independence, each track holds its ground.

The new single Lion Den is a heavy story carried by an upbeat sound. It’s what you think it is, or is it? A place where you start to question what’s real, second-guess everything, and feel something deeper slipping away. Built on groove and subtle tension, the track lifts with high, layered backing vocals that contrast its darker edge.

Produced and arranged by Liam Kennedy-Clark, whose touch brings just the right balance of groove and detail. Liam performs across the record on bass, guitars, keys, percussion and harmonica, Lion Den features world-class musicianship, including Grammy-winning Michael Cleveland on fiddle and mandolin, alongside Gabi Louise on fiddle on Ride, Gary Carter on pedal steel, Josh Schuberth on drums, James Church on dobro, Shannon Guitreau-Barton on banjo and mandolin, and Ashley Dallas on banjo on Ride.

The album was mixed by Thomas O’Connor, who brought the sound into line with the vision of the record, keeping it clear, balanced, and true to the performances, and mastered by Chris Chetland.

All songs written and performed by ELskan FLY (Shelley Wyatt).

The album is available on all digital platforms now including Spotify.
