Ryan Gosling will lead Star Wars: Starfighter, a new standalone film set five years after The Rise of Skywalker, slated for release on May 7, 2027.
Directed by Deadpool & Wolverine filmmaker Shawn Levy, the Disney project promises original characters and fresh storytelling outside the main Skywalker saga.
Gosling, a lifelong Star Wars fan, expressed enthusiasm for the script’s heart and adventure at a Tokyo celebration event.
While plot details remain scarce, the film is confirmed to explore an entirely new timeline in the Star Wars universe.
WRONG, Ryan Gosling will NOT star in the film.
He’ll be a supporting character at best: The goofy, feeble-minded, lilly-livered, incompetent buffoon/weakling who spends the entire movie being wrong about everything, being repeatedly rescue by his stronger and smarter female counterpart and being told he needs to “do better”.
I’ve had enough social programming, thanks. I’ll sit this one out.
Star Wars died when George Lucas signed it over to the Sith Lords at Disney. It’s over.
