American girl group TLC has cancelled their upcoming tour in New Zealand and Australia, which was part of their CrazySexyCool Anniversary tour.
The tour was set to start in Auckland on February 29, featuring En Vogue and Busta Rhymes. However the group announced the cancellation due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ with a heartfelt message to their fans on social media, apologising for any disappointment and promising to return to our shores soon.
According to TLC’s official Instagram page, all ticket holders will receive refunds automatically. Fans expressed their disappointment on social media, with some speculating that the cancellation was due to low ticket sales, possibly influenced by high prices. Others showed concern for the band members following this unexpected news.
TLC, formed by Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins, Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, and the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 1990 in Atlanta, is the best-selling American all-female band of all time. They had planned to perform songs from their 1994 album ‘CrazySexyCool’, among other hits.
This cancellation follows an incident in 2022 when TLC had to withdraw from the Friday Jams Live event in New Zealand, now known as Fridayz, due to a positive Covid-19 case within their touring party.
