Canadian politician says he regrets taking the COVID jab

B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad has publicly expressed regret over receiving three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, calling it a “so-called vaccine” in a recently resurfaced video that was filmed in July.

The footage, shared by the B.C. NDP on their X account, captures Rustad admitting his changed perspective on the COVID mRNA shots and his concerns about their true purpose. Rustad, speaking candidly during a virtual meeting with the B.C. Public Service Employees for Freedom, revealed that discussions with provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry led him to question the vaccine’s intent.

“I wish I hadn’t taken it,” Rustad said in the clip, accusing health officials of using the vaccine more to shape public opinion and control the population than to achieve herd immunity.

“I started to realise it that it wasn’t so much about trying to get herd immunity or trying to stop the spread, but it was more around shaping opinion and control on the population.”

Rustad’s remarks came during a June 2024 meeting with former public service workers who felt they were discriminated against for refusing the vaccine.

The group is now suing Henry for what they believe was unjust treatment during the pandemic. Rustad also promised that, if his party were to form government, vaccine mandates would be eliminated on day one, and he would reinstate healthcare workers who lost their jobs for refusing the vaccine, offering compensation for their lost wages.

  1. It is heartening to see in the Political arena someone who can with honesty and integrity make known their individual thoughts in regard to the vaccine and yet be humble enough to accept the position of others.
Such a shame that we are yet to see this in New Zealand.
With New Zealand being almost last off the rank for securing vaccines and with the benefit of hindsight of all of the countries that went before us and with a heads up of all likely adverse reactions, our Govt still turned a blind eye and proceeded anyway under the narrative of ‘safe and effective’.
This begs the question, if a Nationwide survey was to be conducted today, just how many would likely tick the ‘I wish I hadn’t ’ taken the Covid vaccine box?
