A leaked recording of a meeting at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital in June 2021 reveals management cancelled millions of dollars worth of much-needed surgeries, blaming COVID.
But there were no COVID patients in the hospital at the time. The cost savings made as a result of the cancellations were motivated by political factors, and the excuse of COVID was used deceptively to appease public outrage.
