A historic Los Angeles hotel has come under online fire after a diner posted a viral video criticising what she described as a disappointing and overpriced fine dining experience.
Food content creator Kerry Rose, known online as @comfywith_kerry, accused The Culver Hotel of serving a substandard Beef Wellington despite charging more than $400 for a Christmas set menu for two.
According to Rose, the headline dish — the reason she booked the meal — amounted to a single, overcooked slice of beef, falling well short of expectations for a premium dining experience.
The video, which launched a new series aimed at calling out restaurants she believes trade on reputation rather than quality, has sparked widespread backlash and reignited debate over whether some high-end venues are delivering value to match their prices.
@comfywith_kerry $140 Beef Wellington shouldn’t look like a Lean Cuisine. LA fine dining is charging luxury prices for mid food and hoping the ambiance distracts you! #la #lafood #foodreview #restaurantreview #finedining ♬ original sound – ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕗𝕪 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕂𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕪
