CCTV footage has captured the dramatic moment a high school principal confronted and subdued an armed attacker at a school in Oklahoma.
The incident unfolded on 7 April at Pauls Valley High School when the suspect, identified as Victor Hawkins, allegedly entered the premises and discharged a firearm.
Video from the scene shows Principal Kirk Moore rushing toward the former student and tackling him to the ground in an attempt to stop the threat.
A second staff member quickly intervened, removing the weapon from Hawkins’ possession and helping to bring the situation under control.
Moore sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the confrontation but has since been discharged from hospital. Hawkins was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple charges, including pointing a firearm, shooting with intent to kill, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
