Administrators recommend liquidation as Kitchen Things collapses owing $16.6m

Kitchen Things liquidation news

Kitchen Things and its related companies face liquidation after administrators revealed debts of more than $16.6 million owed to 396 creditors, including $9.9m to ASB and over $5.5m in claims from electronics suppliers such as Panasonic, LG and Samsung.

The first administrators’ report shows the group’s revenue has halved since 2020, with net losses of $2.4m in 2024 and $4.7m in 2025, leaving the business insolvent despite previous restructuring efforts.

Administrators have advised creditors to appoint liquidators at the September 24 watershed meeting, while receivers continue trading and selling stock in search of a buyer.
