Maketū Pies has been rescued by the Montana Group just two weeks after entering liquidation.
The catering company, which employs 1000 staff across Auckland and the Waikato, has taken over the business and its 20 employees, ensuring the pie maker’s legacy continues.
Previously owned by Te Arawa Management Ltd, which had acquired it during a receivership five years ago, Maketū Pies entered voluntary solvent liquidation in late November. Montana Group has already met with the team to begin a smooth transition.

Not rescued “bought out”. None of which probably may not have been needed had the COVID debacle not occurred. It damaged an enormous number of businesses. Very sad, very sad indeed.
