Property mogul’s multi-million dollar apartment up for mortgagee sale

Nikki Connors is facing the sale of her multi-million-dollar two-bedroom apartment in Auckland’s Orakei as a mortgagee sale.

Despite signing a sale and purchase agreement for $2.25 million, the mortgagee, a major bank, has refused to halt the advertising for the sale, leading to a dispute.

Connors, who still resides at the property, attributes the mortgagee sale to complications with another trustee on the title, which prevented her from making decisions until recently. She told legacy media of her relief at finally resolving the issues and moving forward with her plans.

The property, located at 204/27 Grace Street, has been listed with multiple agencies since 2022 and was last advertised with Harcourts for an auction in December 2023. Connors’ situation is further complicated by an asset-freezing order related to a $250,000 loan from Smart Living Ltd., due to missed payments. Justice Robert Osborne granted the order, citing concerns about Connors’ potentially lavish lifestyle and significant asset dissipation.
