10 police staff face criminal charges after Integrity Unit investigations

NZ Police’s National Integrity Unit has revealed that 10 police staff were before the courts as of May following corruption-related investigations, including one employee facing serious allegations of kidnapping, sexual offending, violence and firearms offences.

Other cases involve firearms trafficking, drug supply, blackmail, assault and deception-related charges. Since the unit’s establishment in 2020, it has investigated 117 matters, leading to 22 prosecutions, while 39 active investigations remained under way.

Separate figures also show 325 police employees were subject to 271 open misconduct investigations in June, including 33 linked to sexual misconduct.

A police spokesperson told state media the cases represent only a small proportion of their 16,000-strong workforce and say all allegations are investigated thoroughly, with no employee considered above the law.

  1. “kidnapping, sexual offending, violence and firearms offences”…
NZ Police are no longer sheepdogs, they are wolves in sheeps clothing. Since 1840.

  2. Hmm bent cops. Now there’s a surprise.

Any news on Rear Admiral Jevon McSkimming following his recent slap with a wet bus ticket?

  3. Politicized stooges, I doubt many people with any integrity would want a bar of their grubby little organisation to start with. Now we are supposed to stick our tongues out for these creeps, so they can make sure we are not degenerate druggies. National and co need to go this election. Oh and don’t vote Labour either!

  4. Symptom of corruption from the top and destruction of family values. Most Government departments are now sesspits of filth.

Some American police vehicles can reach around 150 mph, but only specific models and only under the right conditions
It’s not a blanket capability across all departments
Good channel lots of documentaries car chases
Some people steal tools some steal cars oblivious and uncaring as to the consequences of their actions
Pity about the poor plicks who get caught up in all this

  6. “With no employee (policy officer) considered above (corporate rules) said NZ Policy acting chief operating officer Leigh MacDonald”.
Only a sitting jury of 12 in a Common Law court (law of the land) can determine the ‘allegations’ from the facts and the correct lawful remedy to be applied.

  7. They go after the copper who has to do his job in a marode and perverted political landscape.
