3.0 magnitude quake reported near Porangahau

Geonet have reported a 3.0 magnitude quake causing light shaking near Porangahau in the Hawke’s Bay.

The earthquake was centred 5km west of the small township at a depth of 16km, and struck at 7.46pm this evening.

The GeoNet ‘Felt Report‘ lists strong shaking felt in New Plymouth.
