Air New Zealand and JetStar return to normal service after Airbus software glitch

Air New Zealand’s Airbus A320 fleet has returned to normal operations following global software updates prompted by a safety recall affecting around 6000 aircraft, after an incident showed that intense solar radiation could corrupt parts of the flight control system.

Air New Zealand cancelled 27 flights over the weekend.

Jetstar, which cancelled about 90 flights, has also completed all upgrades and restored services.

Air New Zealand customers can make a free change within seven days, hold their fare in credit for 12 months, or request a refund, while Jetstar is contacting affected travellers with its options.
