Hawke’s Bay Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to a single-vehicle crash on Saturday 25 July.

About 3pm, a silver-grey Holden VX Commodore left the south-bound lane of State Highway 2 near Ōtāne and crashed, killing one of the occupants – Sonique Glodean Campbell, aged 24, from Waipawa.

Two other occupants from the car remain in a serious condition in hospital.

Senior Sergeant Craig Vining says Police are seeking additional witnesses who may have observed the Holden prior to the crash.

“We would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle or has dashcam footage of it travelling towards Ōtāne. This information will help us piece together how this happened.

“Police would like to acknowledge and thank all members of the public who helped at the scene on the day. Our condolences and thoughts are with the whānau of the victims.”
