Appeal for information following death of Dunedin cyclist

Dunedin Police are seeking public assistance following the death of a cyclist on Portobello Road on Sunday, October 20.

The cyclist was discovered around 3:30 p.m., and authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the cyclist between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Portobello and Taiaroa Head areas to come forward.

The cyclist was wearing black and grey bike shorts, a blue t-shirt with a bright yellow “EUROBIKE” logo, and an orange helmet. He was riding a silver road bike with blue front forks.

The death has been referred to the Coroner. Anyone with information is urged to contact police online or by calling 105, referencing case number 241021/8589.
