Ardern film shelved

A film titled Mania, exploring the rise and backlash surrounding former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, has been officially dumped.

The film had been in development for months and was set to receive $800,000 in taxpayer funding and potentially $1.2 million more through a government rebate. Despite being pitched to international buyers at the 2023 Cannes film market and generating overseas interest, producer Emma Slade confirmed to legacy media (paywalled) the project was abandoned after learning that a rival, Ardern-endorsed biopic titled Prime Minister was further advanced.

The Mania project, originally known as Jacindamania, never received any public funding before being placed on indefinite pause. It had undergone changes in distribution partners, with Ahi Films initially involved but later withdrawing. While the NZ Film Commission had supported the project’s development, the emergence and international release of Prime Minister—a film produced with Ardern’s full cooperation and premiering at Sundance—was a key factor in Mania’s cancellation.

  1. Oh no!!!! What a terrible shame, Jacinda is so kind and empathetic.

I demand my tax my hard-earned tax-payer dollars are wasted funding this grotesque retarded shit.

  2. The official film might be shelved, but the real film is: Ardern not shelved but DUMPED.
New Zealand had enough of the suffering brought on by a disparate but desperate group of contestants (politicians), fascistically intertwined with greedy corporates (banking and pharma) in a grueling and inhumane dance marathon ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065088/ ).
New Zealand is looking forward to the premiere.
Especially the red carpet walk, which will resemble Running The Gauntlet.

  3. And the herald are saying her book is a big seller lol.

She came back, saw her mum and has hoofed it again, the coward.

    • Should have been banned from entering the country just like she did with many kiwis coming home to see sick and dying loved ones during covid. She must have had to hire extra security just to get here. She can’t stay long term and she knows it. Evil POS.

Not once has she EVER offered up any sort of apology or recognition of peoples hurt. NOT ONCE.

As a mother of three myself, it would also make me extremely unwell to know that I had raised such an abomination of a human being that could single handedly oversee the permanent ruination of a once happy and prosperous country.

That’s all I will say about that.

  4. I still say it should have been called “Yes Minister Down Under”. No need for a second go round and certainly not, at the tax payers expense.

  5. This is nothing more that thief as a servant. Glad it was cancelled. But that is just a drop in the bucket.

Here’s a clearer breakdown of New Zealand government debt over the past five years (year ending 30 June):

Net Core Crown Debt (excl. NZ Super Fund and advances)
    – 2019: NZ$57.7 billion
    – 2020: NZ$83.4 billion
    – 2021: NZ$130.2 billion
    – 2022: NZ$160.1 billion
    – 2023: NZ$182.2 billion
    – 2024: NZ$201.1 billion (actual/forecast)

Gross Crown Debt also rose notably:
    – 2019: ~NZ$84.4 billion → 2020: NZ$101.5 billion → 2024: NZ$159.7 billion

    Context & Ratios:
Net debt surged following the COVID‑19 response and weather-related spending, reaching 55.3% of GDP by June 2024 .

    Summary:
Over the past five years, New Zealand’s net government debt climbed from around NZ$83 billion in 2020 to NZ$201 billion by mid‑2024—a near‑trebling. Gross debt increased similarly, reflecting extensive fiscal measures.

    • Omitted, creditcard debt (personal and business) running steadily around $6.1B, monthly periods.
Cloward Piven is in full force.
Break the country, its identity, economy, means of production, cripple its energy sources and means of transportation, inject the population to a standstill.
All part of the UNEP / WEF conspiracy against civilisation, frequently and risably referred to as ‘conspiracy theory’.

  6. Misappropriation of public funds is a polite way of saying tax money was used to fund personal projects or personal benefit.

Wondering just how delusional public figures are to expect normal thinking citizens don’t know the difference between stealing and not stealing.

If i were to work for a company and had access to channel money to further personally promote myself, government has truly lost the trust and respect of this nation.

Why are the police not called to review such fraudulent use of public money?

  7. Skimming is a term used to fund personal personal projects using other peoples money, to pay for pet projects.

Nothing about beening kind to anyone. Notably, one name is missing. Former minister of finance Grant Robberston who strutted around parliament hand in hand with his younger small framed boyfriend while borrowing billions for projects such as Ardern’s promotional movie.

Lets call it what it is. Embezzlement
