Auckland mosque worker denies teen sex abuse charges

Auckland mosque abuse news

An Auckland man who worked with youth at a mosque has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of indecent acts and assault involving two teenage boys between 2016 and 2020.

The alleged offences reportedly took place in locations such as at the mosque, in his car, and during a youth camp, where one victim said he was coerced into bed after being frightened by stories.

The man, who cannot be named at this stage, denies all allegations.

He was remanded on bail with conditions including a ban on attending the mosque or contacting minors, and was granted interim name suppression until January 2026. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison and possible inclusion on the Child Sex Offender Register.

  2. “If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison and possible inclusion on the Child Sex Offender Register.” if the legal system works for once and i doubt it will he should be locked up for the rest of his natural and should most assuredly be on that list for life. This is the only way you will hopefully prevent the next scumbag from doing the same or worse. Action need to have real consequences.

    • There’s a much simpler and cheaper way to achieve the same outcome, but it involves a tree and rope.

      100% success rate.

      0% recidivism.

But half our pudgy country would spit out their soy latte and howl in indignation from their yoga mats that another culture is being “oppressed”, so I guess this sort of thing is here to stay 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • Seemingly it does not look too good, but please let a human have their trial first.
If you are on the jury, THEN you can throw your stone.

      • Nah, my way’s better.

We’re all sick and tired of playing nice and paying our taxes over month after month like good little citizens, just for the robbery, murder, rape and violence to all keep getting worse.

  3. Hmmm starting to sound somewhat like the UK, perhaps?. Time a reform style party in NZ because this place really needs to be fixed.
