Blake Wilson, a 23-year-old New Zealand pilot, died in a tragic helicopter crash in Cairns, Australia, after flying a helicopter from Cairns Airport into a no-fly zone without authorisation.
The former Palmerston North Boys’ High School student of was described by those who knew him as a “good all-round fella” and “one of the best out there.”
Wilson held a New Zealand commercial helicopter licence but was not authorised to fly in Australia, according to state media.
The incident occurred following a staff celebration at Nautilus Aviation, where a ground crew member “misappropriated” the helicopter. The crash resulted in Wilson’s death, with Queensland Police continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the accident.
OK…so he was NOT certified / licenced / granted permission to fly in Oz, and then they ‘misappropriate’ (steal???) a chopper…
& yet, he was a ‘great guy’…
Tired of the double standards that Freemason imposes on the rest of us…& Palmy North is saturated with the Masonic Old Boy Network, just like Christchurch and Welly!
It’s also a part of the ‘she’ll be right mate’ attitude, and the problems of Kiwi overconfidence that exceeds limitations.
Such attitudes have no place in the air or on the water…
Condolences to the family…
