California leadership slammed for ‘criminal negligence’

Hollywood actor Zachary Levi has condemned California’s leadership for what he calls “incredible mismanagement” of the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires, describing the devastation as “like a post-apocalyptic war film.”

Speaking on *Jesse Watters Primetime*, Levi accused Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and other state leaders of failing to prevent and respond effectively to wildfires, which he believes are exacerbated by budget cuts to firefighting resources.

Levi highlighted that Newsom’s tenure has coincided with some of the state’s worst wildfires and criticised Bass for her international trip to Ghana during the crisis. He also questioned the character of Newsom, referencing his controversial attendance at a private dinner during COVID-19 lockdowns as emblematic of poor leadership.

Levi voiced further frustration over the recent removal of fire insurance for many Southern Californians, calling it “the most criminal” aspect of the situation.

He told Fox News that residents in high-risk areas are now left vulnerable without coverage, despite the clear need for fire and flood insurance in such regions.

The Shazam! star called for greater accountability from state and national leaders and urged the public to send support to those affected by the wildfires.
