An article on The Green Goddess wellness website has renewed concerns about the potential use of the Apeel food coating on fruit and vegetables in New Zealand, despite assurances from major retailers.
While Foodstuffs NZ has stated there is no need for Apeel due to its short supply chains, critics point out the company has not clearly ruled out its use by growers or packhouses, where the coating may be applied before reaching stores.
According to The Green Goddess, Apeel, composed of plant-derived mono- and diglycerides, is applied in two stages— ‘InvisiPeel’ before harvest and ‘EdiPeel’ after harvest—and forms a barrier to extend shelf life. It cannot be washed off and must be applied by trained technicians. Although Apeel has been approved for use in New Zealand, there is no labeling requirement, leaving consumers unaware of its presence if it has been used.
Health concerns have been raised over trace amounts of heavy metals and industrial solvents used in the formulation, despite the company’s claim that the quantities are “too small to cause harm”. The Gates Foundation helped fund early research into Apeel in 2012, though Bill Gates has no financial stake in the company today.
Organic certifier BioGro NZ has not approved Apeel for use on certified organic produce, and brands like Yummy and Pak’nSave have stated they do not use it. The Green Goddess encourages consumers to contact supermarkets to demand transparency, and to support local farmers as a way to avoid unwanted coatings on their produce.
No labelling requirements! It’s getting to the stage that ALL supermarket food can not be trusted to be safe and wholesome. Our politicians are treasonous, particularly if the GE bill is passed.
And here is the thing similar to politics: Once the supermarkets lose costomer confidence it is impossible to get it back.
Better buy local produce, or even better grow yourself and barter.
The “corporate culling” continues. Beware ALL corporate chow.
This is why you immediately stop buying
1.Speak up and ask for a written document evidence;
2. Be radical, do not buy!
3. Ship from small local producers
4. Dear Bill and Melinda Gates, go apeel your butts!
If the Gene Technology Act passes there will be no requirement to tell customers GMO is in the food. A total overriding of informed consent and breach of human rights. The Members of Parliament really do hate us.
We The People will not forget.
There will be a list with all individuals who votefor that bill, INCLUDING where they live and roam, including their family members who will also be health-compromised by this insidious bill. I mean, that really shows the ruthlessness and ignorance with which these ‘representatives’ govern.
Doxxing? In face of serious and likely forever lasting consequences for the people’s food sources/supplies, it will be ‘gloves off’.
To be sure: this bill is for their corporate buddies who ‘sponsor and donate’ to their miserable boot-licker careers.
It’s only about their greed and pride.
They interfere with our health, live and liberty and they’ll bear the blow-back.
Confidence of a people can turn on a heel.
On the other hand, one or the other cunning weasel might get the drift and might want to think about changing course. Not because they are suddenly concerned for the people, no, that would be to try changing their spots and wretched ideology. No, they will turn to avoid being held accountable one day.
It’s either that or they better find a cushy job overseas.
Boycott all supermarkets that sell this crap
Gates may have no financial interest in the company, but who owns the patents?
Here is a question if someone knows the answer.
Would peeling the apple remove the coating ?
Interesting question. Can I add…….
If “invisPeel” is applied before harvest, is it absorbed by the tree through pores in the leaves and does it enter the fruit?
Does it settle on the soil and can it be taken up by the root system and enter into the fruit?
If it does enter into the soil, what are the effects on the beneficial microorganisms?
The peel has the most nutrients. That goes in priciple for all fruit and vegetables.
I thought that the shiny appearance was from a thin sprayed layer of harmless Carnuba Wax.
When did this change?…OH! I forgot-
Governments and NGO’s are killing off the populations, especially the elderly and those designated as ‘Useless Eaters’ as per KillGates, the WEF and WHO.
All Zionist-inspired, of course!
& glyphosate is still on the shelves at the hardware stores and in 55 gallon barrels for ‘agricultural use’.
Maybe the ‘Red Heifer’ that the J3w$ are hunting for will have five legs and two heads…
My recent order of burgers with Soylent beef patties in the buns ran-off & escaped on their own at M@ccas and B.K., and then were observed on skateboards and promptly disappeared…!
LOL.
If it’s allowed, here’s a shout-out to the Summit Takeaways on Waihi Road, Tauranga.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still fast food, but the burger deals (burger, chips and a drink for under 9 bucks) are fresh and taste great.
If it’s not organic, consider it poisoned.
And Anon, keep in mind the devil in the detail of that Gene Tech bill..how forced mRNA jabs will be in law… it’s in that bill and they will jail you for 5 years if you are deemed by the government to be spreading mis or dis information about mRNA and huge fines if you refuse a jab or if an employer refuses to jab their employees, up to $1 million… $500,000 for individuals and I got word the other day that they are already planning to go after those who refused the jabs so far FIRST UP…. come the next plandemic and to top it all off, in the Gene Tech bill, total immunity from liable if anything should go wrong because they will have done this to us out of good intentions… this bill was also supported by Winston and NZ First, they signed the co alition agreement right at election time with this in that agreement.. I have a copy of the bill and the coaltion agreement… we are done for in NZ..leave if you can…I am ready to go but property is not selling sadly…have to find a buyer
