Reuben Jeremy Finn, 30, and Bronte LeLievre, 32, have appeared in Nelson District Court after engaging in indecent behaviour during an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Nelson in November last year.
Despite repeated requests from cabin crew to stop, the pair continued kissing and fondling in front of 48 passengers, prompting police to arrest them on landing.
Finn, who admitted the charge and has 21 prior convictions, was sentenced to six months of community detention and 12 months of supervision, covering both the indecent act and unrelated theft offences. LeLievre has also admitted the charge and will be sentenced in November.
