Darleen Tana officially removed from parliament, Benjamin Doyle set to replace her

Darleen Tana news

Darleen Tana is no longer a Member of Parliament, as Speaker Gerry Brownlee finalised the process of her removal this morning.

Tana, who resigned from the Green Party earlier this year following allegations of her involvement in migrant exploitation at her husband’s business, had been sitting as an independent MP.

The Green Party initiated legal action under the 2018 waka-jumping law to remove her in July, which concluded today.

Benjamin Doyle will take Tana’s seat, and her removal is expected to increase Green Party funding.

Tana is reportedly appealing a High Court ruling that upheld the Greens’ investigation.

  1. I would suggest a holiday for Darleen after the debacle of “bicyclegate”
Maybe a trip over to Scotland to check out some old family ties?
