Details of Trump – Putin phone call revealed

Donald Trump - Vladimir Putin phone call

The Kremlin has released details of a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, saying both leaders agreed that any resolution to the Ukraine conflict must be based on a lasting peace rather than a temporary ceasefire.

According to Kremlin foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov, Trump called Putin on Sunday for a 75-minute discussion described as friendly and businesslike, covering a range of issues linked to peace talks ahead of Trump’s planned meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Florida.

Ushakov said Putin stressed the importance of relying on understandings reached at the Anchorage summit earlier this year, while both leaders agreed that a short-term ceasefire proposed by Ukraine and supported by European allies would only prolong the conflict and risk renewed fighting. According to RT the two presidents agreed to continue negotiations by setting up working groups focused on security and economic matters, and to speak again after Trump meets Zelensky. Trump earlier described the conversation as “very productive” in a post on Truth Social.

Moscow again rejected the idea of a temporary ceasefire, arguing it would give Ukrainian forces time to regroup and rearm, and dismissed Zelensky’s recently announced 20-point peace plan as unacceptable and inconsistent with talks held between Russia and the United States.

Over the weekend, Putin said some figures in the West were offering Kiev what he described as reasonable peace terms, including security guarantees and economic support, but warned that if Ukraine continued to avoid a negotiated settlement, Russia would pursue its objectives on the battlefield.

  1. Once bitten twice shy
    You too NATO
    Russia has certain Red Lines
    Judder Bars
    Rubicons
    Nothing has changed
These people keep keeping on in trying to reinvent the wheel
    What part don’t they get?
The truth is demagogue interested parties do not want the war to end but to continue
And who will manipulate and distort the situation to their own devices and illusory objectives

  2. Those objectives might just be the entire Ukraine territory.

All becuase NATO wanted to install medium and long-range weapons of mass destruction closer to Russia.

That move was provocative in the extreme. Now Europe is paying the price of stupidity.

To move things forward , Zelensky must be replaced or eliminated. Many think that latter.

    .

  3. It’s unlikely there will have been change in the attitudes of either Zelensky or the Russians. He seems to be on a permanent tour of NATO countries seek seeking money (and missiles he can sell on the black market to arms dealers).
