More than 200,000 illegal migrants have now crossed the English Channel in small boats since the crisis emerged in 2018, according to new Home Office figures.
The latest arrivals pushed the total to 200,013 after 70 people reached the UK on a single vessel on Friday during favourable weather conditions.
Despite repeated pledges from successive British governments to halt the crossings and dismantle people-smuggling networks, the numbers have continued climbing, with arrivals more than doubling over the past three years. The route has also remained deadly, with at least eight migrants reported killed attempting the crossing this year, following 23 deaths in 2025.
Officials say tighter security on other migration routes, organised trafficking operations and calm-weather “red days” have contributed to the surge. Since Rishi Sunak vowed to “stop the boats” in 2022 and Keir Starmer later promised to crush smuggling gangs, more than 72,000 people have still arrived via the Channel route.
Most migrants have originated from Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Eritrea and Albania, although crossings from several African nations, including Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia, have risen sharply over the past year.

Nobody can argue that such influx could not be stopped. This ‘crisis’ is by design to wreck European societies under the camouflage of…wait for it…humanism.
“….At at least eight migrants reported killed attempting the crossing this year…” is misleading, as no migrant has been ‘killed’ by official forces. They succumb, drown, or die while attempting to flee the disasters which British politics have bestowed on their home countries.
“Divide and conquer”, although contemporarily attributed to Israel, has historical roots in how colonial powers like the British in India have managed the eventual partition of regions.
Today these powers divide and conquer their own people.
The British in India took advantage of pre-existing rivalries and when a rival side engaged the British to assist them the Brits were able to leverage their assistance and eventually took control over the whole sub-continent whose divisions they had studied and mastered which enabled a relatively small forced to exert it’s authority and merge a multitude of disparate rival kingdoms into the country now called India.
Which isn’t to say they didn’t “Divide and conquer” – a strategy which originates from the Roman colonial era, although I suspect it is much older than that, however it would be more accurate in the case of India to say they leveraged divisions to conquer (it should be noted how the PTB create divisions in modern society for the same aims i.e. wokeism, feminism, racism and many other isms). The Romans colonised Britain, and the British absorbed the Roman culture which prevailed even after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.
The PTB love mayhem and division, especially mayhem and division they’re in control over as it helps them retain power.
Why not remove the cause of the problem? The simplest way to stop or reduce such immigration and refugees is for the UK and USA to stop their ongoing colonisation via their global terrorism and stop financing wars they don’t need. The UK and USA need to end their continued imperialism – Iran has shown the world how to confront such western imperialism. There is no refugee outflow out of Iran to the western world because Iran won the recent war against USA-Israel. Data instead shows that expat Iranians returned to Iran during this recent war. When the rest of the world also stands up firmly to confront western imperialism – then the unwanted immigration into Europe will end. Fix the problem properly!!!

From about 800,000 to 1,300,000 per year immigration. net migration (immigrant minus migrants) per year over that time between 200,000 and 800,000 per year.
