Fatal crashes have been reported in the last 24 hours, in two Bay of Plenty locations.
Fatal crash, Pyes Pa Road
Police can now confirm one person has died following a crash on Pyes Pa Road yesterday.
The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 12:50pm.
Alongside the person who died, a second person in the same vehicle suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital.
The two people in the second vehicle were in moderate condition.
The Serious Crash Unit was advised and the road has since reopened.
Fatal crash, SH30 Rotorua
One person has died following a crash on State Highway 30 in Rotorua overnight.
The single vehicle crash was reported to Police shortly after 11:10pm.
State Highway 30 was closed at the time, but reopened shortly before 6am.
The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene, and investigations into the circumstances of the crash are underway.
