Firearms Safety Authority worker alleges cover-up, Favouritism, and breaches of law

Firearms Safety Authority news

A former employee of New Zealand’s Firearms Safety Authority has accused the agency of serious misconduct, claiming she was instructed to conceal an affair between a senior and junior staff member and to manipulate hiring processes to secure a job for a preferred contractor.

According to a report in state-funded media, the HR staffer told investigators she was asked to act “completely against the Policing Act, Employment Law and the Public Service Act,” describing a “toxic, bullying” culture where staff feared retaliation.

The allegations surfaced amid an internal employment process and prompted a broader “corporate hygiene and internal controls” review into financial practices, contractor appointments, and management of relationships within the Authority.

Police said the historical claims had been investigated and the process concluded, while the Independent Police Conduct Authority is conducting its own inquiry.

  1. New Zealand has one of the highest reported rates of workplace bullying in the developed world
    Significantly above global averages.
Studies show that up to 40% of Kiwi workers have experienced bullying in their lifetime, compared to 15–20% globally.
Trucking remains consistently for one of the worst incidence of experiencing workplace bullying.
For drivers logistic workers and depot staff.
Log trucks absolutely feature in the bullying landscape of New Zealand’s transport sector, especially in forestry-linked supply chains.
You always find one or two You do not get on with.
Its usually intelligent people they don’t like.
Who don’t make the right noises and who don’t fit in.
And who don’t suffer BS lightly.

    • New Zealand has one of the highest reported rates of workplace bullying not because of bullying but because of highest reporting.
The unbearable ‘woke’ work culture is akin to running a gauntlet. You can’t even make jokes anymore. And females use lippy antagonism for their individual feminist delusions of entitlement and vengeance, not realizing how obnoxious and full of venom they are.

    • Surely the article is about corruption, not bullying.

A fish rots from the head down.

When public servants see ministers blatantly lying to and cheating the nz public (aye nicola?), they naturally think dishonesty is the new norm and act accordingly.

  2. I wonder how many are behind bars because they were pushed too far by being bullied from the entitled Old Boy pricks and Old Girl cunts that run the companies here, and the bullied person had finally had enough of the bullying, abuses, threats, etc. and finally, when they couldn’t take anymore, retaliated by kicking their asses and then ended-up on criminal charges.
The judges seem to be wuick to overlook this, and tend to favour the perpetrators as opposed to the victims.
Even the law firms are corrupted, and usually there is a ‘conflict of interest’ between the lawfirms and the businesses / employers who are doing the bullying and the companies who share a CEO / President / BoD who may hold several positions in those realms and areas.
In nations where firearms ownership is a right, there isn’t much bullying, as the targeted person may just retaliate and ‘go postal’ on the bullies.
An armed society is a polite society, and this tends to deter bullying in many spheres of life in other nations.

  3. This is systemic in NZ now we are a corrupt country sycophants everywhere if you are not one you are marginalised then displaced.
    JUST HORRIBLE….
    AND ITS FROM TOP DOWN

  4. You set up a corrupt industry, agency, department etc like this one and it attracts ‘like’. sooner or later the in fighting starts (Narcissistic) and collapse is imminent, it Gods plan for those with eyes open. Our councials are on this same path..
