Hamilton paedophile gets 10 months Home D

Gregory van de Worp news

Child sex offender Gregory van de Worp was sentenced this week in Hamilton District Court.

WARNING: This article contains references to sexual offending.

39-year-old van de Worp was before the court on a raft of charges relating to indecent acts performed on four young children, committed between 2012 and 2018 while he was working for Pūkete Neighbourhood House after-school programmes in Hamilton.

It’s not the first time van de Worp has been before the courts for this type of offending.

In 2018 he was sentenced to 16 months jail after he was caught touching a victim’s genitals.

In 2021 he was sentenced to six months home detention when two other victims came forward, and last month he received another term of 10 months for offending against four young victims.

In sentencing van de Worp last week Judge Brett Crowley took into account the ‘good progress’ he had made.

‘It seems to me you are trying to live a positive life, having had the benefit of rehabilitation, and are well regarded by your employer as a simple hardworking person.’

A father of one of the victims was not satisfied with the sentence. He told Newshub it ‘was not good enough.’

‘How are kids supposed to feel safe?’

He urged the new government to bring in tougher laws for sexual violence.

‘We’ve got a new prime minister of New Zealand and if this doesn’t change I’m going to be knocking on the door.

‘I don’t want any kids to get hurt again and I will fight for them all the way until the laws are changed.’

  1. “The good progress he had made”.

Jesus Christ I want to set something on fire.

Really?! The “good progress” he’d made in what specifically, molesting more and more children as time went by? What “benefits of rehabilitation” am I not seeing here, because it seems to be the case that this waste of human DNA has NOT changed nor will he.

This judge is clearly an abject idiot, trying to save face defending a broken justice system that observably no longer serves up any justice.

It’s fine, give him another slap on the wrist Mr Judge. Go right ahead with more of the same soft on crime gobbledegook. Eventually this scumbag is going to put their hands on the WRONG child with the WRONG father, it’s inevitable. There WILL be justice, if the government won’t enforce it then eventually the people will. But there WILL be justice.
