Israel’s government has approved a ceasefire and hostage release agreement, marking the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Middle East peace plan.

The deal, passed in an early-morning cabinet vote on Friday, is set to take effect within 24 hours, bringing a temporary halt to months of fighting in Gaza.

Under the agreement, Israeli troops will withdraw to a line giving them control of 53% of the Gaza Strip in the first of three planned withdrawal stages. In exchange, Hamas will begin releasing Israeli hostages—both alive and deceased—within 72 hours of the ceasefire taking effect. Israel will also release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including some serving life sentences.

The United States is deploying up to 200 troops already based in the Middle East to Israel to help coordinate a multinational monitoring force made up of personnel from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. The unit will operate under US Central Command through a civil-military coordination centre in Israel but will not enter Gaza. Its mission will be to monitor the truce and support humanitarian aid operations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump for his “leadership and determination” in brokering the deal. Hamas official Khalil Al-Hayya said he received guarantees from the US and mediators that the war was over.

US officials say that if the hostage and prisoner exchanges are completed as planned, talks will begin on forming an “International Stabilisation Force” to secure the region and support long-term peace efforts.

  1. How have dead Israeli hostages been kept in such a good state of preservation under such atrocious conditions that they can be handed over?
Stretching back to Oct 7th 2023
Apparently there are allegedly only still 22 Israelie captives still alive
The number 22 is known as “The Master Builder” in symbolism and numerology in building legacies
A number as low as 22 would easily be able to manipulated
To the extent that there were no hostages

    • Operation Barbarossa comes to mind the Nazi invasion of Russia launched on the 22nd of June 1941
In numerology symbology the number 22 can denote a changing of the guard
      A numerical baton
And represents the power to manifest lasting change
