A 47-year-old New Zealand woman has been found dead in her hotel room near Kata Beach, Phuket.
Thai police said told The Phuket News there were no signs of struggle, but prescription medications and alcohol were found nearby, with a preliminary report suggesting respiratory failure from a reaction between the two.
A German friend who had been drinking with her the night before discovered her unresponsive the next day.
Authorities confirmed CCTV footage supports his account, and toxicology tests are underway as the investigation continues.
